Program Officer The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority seeks a skilled and dynamic professional to join the Trust. The program officer is an integral position of the Trust team and carrying out its mission. This position's portfolio will include, but not be limited to Trust's strategies focused on reducing the prevalence of beneficiaries involved in Alaska's criminal justice system. Expertise or familiarity with Alaska's criminal justice reform efforts, re-entry, criminal and/or civil legal processes, is desired. Additional expertise/experience in one or more of the Trust's focus areas including: substance abuse prevention and treatment, housing, long-term services and supports, employment and workforce development is preferred. Must be self-motivated, have exceptional interpersonal skills, track record of interacting with sensitivity and respect in a multi-cultural environment and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Under general direction, the program officer will represent the Trust in building and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders. The Trust is a leader in philanthropy in Alaska and grants approximately $20 million a year to organizations across the state. The Trust focuses all grants towards improving the lives of beneficiaries which include Alaskans with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, Alzheimer's and related dementia, and traumatic brain injuries.
