POSITION SUMMARY:
Position Title: Tribal Children's Service Work (TCSW)
Salary Range: $19 - $20.00/Hr DOE up to 20 hours per week
Term: Year Round
Benefits: benefits include 10 paid federal holidays; 104 hours sick leave and 104 hours annual leave accrued each year, available only after completion of the 30 day probation period.
INTRODUCTION:
This position is located at the Ugashik Traditional Village (UTV) administrative offices in Anchorage, Alaska, with primary responsibility of Indian Child Welfare Act case intervention, child abuse prevention, education and collaboration with tribal members. Works with and reports to the Tribal Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? High school diploma - College degree preferred.
? Completion of or enrolled in Family Centered Human Services certificate or degree program (can be completed on the job)
? Knowledge of early childhood development or education programs; ICWA regulations; State of AK regulations concerning abuse and neglect and CINA court hearings; State of AK foster/ child care licensing regulations; Healthy families Alaska concepts; Regional food bank and project succeed programs within the region/local area; Federal Title IV-B (1& 2)
? Excellent communications, writing and reporting abilities are necessary
? Federal Back ground check annually.
? alcohol and drug test are required
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
? Verify tribal membership and process ICWA notices
? Develop case intervention plans
? Follow UTVC management system
? Develop network for Family Services, intervention and referral services
? Attend all required training and awareness programs
? Maintain valid Alaska driver license
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
Supervisor (UTV Tribal Manager) defines overall objectives and priorities of the work of the
Office and assists the employee with unusual assignments.
Supervisor occasionally spot-checks work for accuracy, completeness, adequacy and compliance with established procedures. Problems or conflicts, with a suggested solution, are referred to the supervisor for resolution.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is mostly sedentary and requires no special physical demands.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment involves the normal risks, comforts, and discomforts typical of an office setting.
